Geocache Description:

If you don't want to hike to Ben Lomond Peak, but enjoy similarly rewarding views, this nice ridge just might be your ticket. From the parking coords to the cache, it's 0.95 miles (as the crow flies) and approximately 1,300 feet elevation difference.

We've eyed this ridge for months as we hiked other trails on either side of the North Ogden Canyon. It's always drawn our attention as a spot worth seeking out, and to see what views we might enjoy. We were not dissapointed on any account. It's a great place to appreciate the beautiful Wasatch Front, plus sweeping views to the south and west. If you take binoculars with you and scan the slopes below Ben Lomond Peak, you might even catch a view of the mountain goats that live there.

From the parking coordinates, make your way up to the "Cairn" waypoint, included as a photo reference. The cairn marks a narrow trail leading up the ridge. It winds through trees for a short distance before emerging into the clear, continuing as an unimpeded trail to the top of the ridge.

The cache is a cammoed decon container, hanging about 6.5 feet above ground level, for four season enjoyment. We hope you enjoy this scenic and rewarding hike.
