Van Cleve Park Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Team_Schnauzer: Sending this one to archive. This is a nice little park but this cache has been through the wringer. The first one fell victim to the derecho wind storm that flattened part of this park a few years ago and then was smashed up by some stupid teenagers that were probably out here to booze it up. I think it's had a good run, but I'm not really interested in replacing a cache that is rarely visited.

Geocache Description:

Cache container hidden in Marshall County Conservation's Van Cleve Park with permission. Please use defined trails and abide by other park regulations, including hours. Original contents include some swag, pen and log sheet.

This should be a pretty easy find most of the year, though it could be considerably more tricky in the winter months with snow on the ground. This quiet little park located in the hamlet of Van Cleve is hardly known and it's a shame. It's a nice little prairie preserve park. There should be drinking water available and there are backhouses here if you need to use the restroom. You can park anywhere on the road and walk back to the cache site via well-defined trail. It's not all that far back... just a few hundred feet.

*NOTE: there is poison ivy near the cache and there may be ticks in this area as well.

Thank you for geocaching in Marshall County!

*Congratulations to cjandbj on the FTF!*
