The main gates on Macquarie Street open at 6am & close at 6pm (8pm during daylight savings). The Westmead gate opens at 10am and closes at 3pm on weekdays, but on weekends and public holidays this gate opens at 6am and closes at 6pm (8pm during Daylight Savings).
The park is a great place to come for a bike ride, walk or run, or a relaxing picnic. There are playgrounds, BBQs, picnic tables, and a cafe near the river.
This cache is located near the main picnic ground and children's play area on the Westmead side of the Park, but not close enough for muggles to be much of a problem. You'll need to head down towards the creek.
For over 150 years Parramatta Park has been a place where families and community groups have come together for celebration or to enjoy the outdoors. At one time the gatekeeper's wives were expected to have hot water available to meet the demand for tea making from picnickers. Although the gatekeeper's and their obliging wives have disappeared into history, the Park Trust still provides picnickers with free BBQs and picnic shelters.
The cache is a 400ml sistema.
