I think Pickford needed yet another cache. This is the town I grew up in. We lived one mile west of town and rode our bikes to town just about every day. Many local kids spent a lot of time under the old bridge (It has been replaced with a newer, stronger, but less attractive one). Some kids would go under the bridge to smoke (You know who you are) and others just played around. One summer we spent a week just catching crawfish. Lots of great memories.
When looking for this first stage, please be careful, the rocks are a trip hazard.
Pickford has an awesome track and field history. The sign on the way into town mentions the fact that they won the UP championship every year from 1952 until 1978. Wow, what a streak. I was recently speaking to a current Pickford track team member and I was surprised to hear that she didn’t even know about this winning streak (which her father was part of). Maybe this cache will help shed some light on this history. The second and final stage takes you to a historic area. Permission has been given to hide the cache on this property.
Enjoy the hunt. FTF prize is an unactivated geocoin. This coin is really cool. It is a message in a bottle geocoin.
