It is that time of month
again. No, not that time, time for us to give back to Brevard
County Parks and Rec for allowing us to place caches throughout the
county in all of their parks. Our mission for this event is as
follows: We will be not only cleaning up the shorline of all the
trash left behind by the careless but we will also be picking up a
lot of branches and palm frons that have blown down. There is
plenty of work to be done in this tiny little park. We have made
arrangements with the county to host these events in a different
park for the rest of year. Our hopes is for someone to host a CITO
each month throughout 2011 and show the parks department our
appreciation. So come on out and support our
efforts.
This event will start at 8:00
am and go until about 10:00 on Saturday morning. We are starting at
8:00 am trying to beat some of the heat. Bring gloves and grabbers
if you want them. We will supply some grabbers that will be
provided by Keep Brevard Beautiful as well as garbage bags. The
County will provide a dump truck for us to fill
up.
Hwy 520 Causeway at the
Hubert Humphrey Bridge, Merritt Island FROM US Hwy 1 at SR-520, go
east 0.7 miles just over the Humbert Humphrey Bridge. Turn back to
the SR-520 westbound lane. The park entrance is on the westbound
lane and the exit is on the eastbound lane. We will be
cleaning up the North side of this park this time. Last time
we hauled 1,500 lbs of trash and debris from the South side.
Let's see if we can top that this time.
