About This Location
Lake Snowden is a 675-acre education and recreation park, featuring the largest of the four lakes that form the Margaret Creek Conservancy District. The lake itself covers approximately 136 acres. Lake Snowden is an ideal spot for camping, boating, fishing, picnicking, or swimming. It is hard to believe this beautiful, serene setting is only a few miles outside of Athens. The grounds also feature shelter houses, restroom facilities, a beach, shoreline fishing holes, a fish hatchery, and over twelve miles of trails designed for horses.
