Geocache Description:

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS CACHE IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE OWING TO BUILDING ALTERATIONS At the airport - lots to see, visitors to meet, or take flight yourself...Smileys

Gisborne Airport is a vital link for travel to and from this area. It is unique in that it has a railway line crossing the runway, which is only an issue on rare occations when the WA-165 does a scenic trip, as there are no other trains that come to the area at the moment.

When driving into the airport area, one is greeted by a quaint little yellow cropsprayer aircraft mounted on stilts, and the sight of the control tower lets you know you are coming near the airport.

There is an interesting Aviation Museum right near the airport which is open on Sundays and only requires a gold coin donation to enter.  You can also book scenic flights or helicopter trips from businesses in the area. This cache is placed with permission of airport authorities http://zaazu.com

The cache is a camophlaged micro that contains logbook and pencil only. No room for coins or TBs. This is a very high muggle area, so extreme stealth is required to grab the cache. Please be sure to replace it exactly where you find it, and with the opening facing downwards. Thanks
