The Crack of Doom Traditional Cache
K Trackers: After careful thought, we have decided to archive The Crack of Doom. This was a painful decision as it was one of our favorite hides. The construction is taking too long and it is unlikely that the terrain will support the intended hide concept. If the area can support a new hide when the construction is over, we will be sure to re-occupy the space. The cache material will be recycled. On the bright side, this will provide the opportunity for a new cache to lure some of the local cachers back into the area.

Most people familiar with the Lord of the Rings know that Frodo had to travel to the land of Mordor, to the cracks of Mount Doom, to destroy the One Ring. What most people don't know is that Frodo and Sam went to the cracks of Mount Doom not to destroy The Ring, but to find a geocache! The One Ring wasn't destroyed, it was swapped for another trade item from the cache.
Now you must travel into the lands of Wolf Ranch, to the Crack of Doom cache, to liberate the Swag of Power! Included in the swag is a large number of rings. If you take a ring (there are other items), we would appreciate it if you could leave a ring.
Access to the cache is easy as it is right off Wolf Village Drive along a easement. Pull of to the side of Wolf Village Drive to park, but don't block the street or someone's driveway. There is a fence the denotes the edge of private property. The cache is NOT on the private property, so there is no need to climb the fence. Beware of Orcs and Muggles, thier lairs are nearby. The Crack of Doom has been compromised in the past, so be on your gaurd.
Please take care to reset the container and put the cache back the way you found it.
If you are lucky enough to find this point during New Years Eve, you have a great view of the Pikes Peak fireworks. If you use your imagination, it is almost like watching Mount Doom erupt!
