Geocache Description:

On the banks of the beautiful River Hodder near Mitton

A lovely walk along the banks of the River Hodder taking in the superb scenery. The River Hodder is 23 miles long and joins the River Ribble as one of its main tributaries. This walk leads you along the banks towards Hodder Place, an old turreted building and part of the Stonyhurst estate. Hodder Place used to be a Jesuit novitiate and opened as a prep school in 1855, finally closing its doors in 1970 and turned into residential flats.
