This is a magnetic nano cache placed near the Country Music Trail marker for Jerry Clower.
Jerry Clower is one of the most recognized country comedians. He was born September 28, 1926 and grew up in the East Fork community, or Route 4 Liberty, MS as he referred to it in his stories. He joined the Navy in 1944 and served two years. After discharge he attended Mississippi State University and after graduation he worked as a county agent and then a seed salesman. When he became a fertilizer salesman for Mississippi Chemical in Yazoo City, MS, people began to notice his storytelling ability. He began recording in 1970 and in 1971 MCA records signed him. This began a 27 year entertainment career that ended with his death in 1998. In his later years he moved back home to East Fork where he attended East Fork Baptist Church not far from here. His home is nearby and the cemetery where he is buried is not far from the church.
