NO: Den eldste kjente kirken i Enningdalen var en stavkirke som lå på Kirkebøen ved nordenden av Kirkevannet et par km fra svenskegrensen. Stavkirken forfalt i 1600-årene og ble erstattet av en tømmerkirke på samme sted, som ble revet i 1795.
Den utflyttede enningdølen og sangbokforfatteren Mads Berg tok initiativ til å bygge en ny kirke på stedet i 1942. Det tok ti år før byggetillatelsen var i havn, og i 1953 ble grunnstenen lagt ned. Kirken ble ferdigstilt i 1956, og arkitekt er Dag Borge.
Kirken har 100 sitteplasser, og altertavlen har temaet ”Jesus og disiplene på Tabor”. Både prekestolen og døpefonten er laget i tre, og er fra 1956. Kirken har én kirkeklokke og et elektronisk orgel.
Til å begynne med inneholdt cachen: Loggbok, blyant, blyantspisser, FTF pin, hjerteformet te-lys, liten hjerte-pynt og scrapping-klistremerker for bryllup.
ENG: The oldest known church in Enningdalen was a stave church situated at Kirkebøen at the north of Kirkevannet a couple of kilometers from the Swedish border. The stave church decayed during the 1600s and was replaced by a wooden church at the same spot, which was demolished in 1795.
Mads Berg, that had lived in Enningdalen and now was a song book writer, took the initiative in building a new church on the same location in 1942. It took 10 years before he got the building permit, and the corner stone was placed in 1953. The church was finished in 1956, and the architect is Dag Borge.
The church has seats for 100 people, and the altarpiece displays a scene from “Jesus and the disciples at Mount Tabor”. Both the pulpit and the baptismal font is made of wood, and they are from 1956. The church has one church bell and an electronical organ.
