Geocache Description:

This cache is across the street from Intel Corporation’s large Ocotillo campus, which is the home of 2 large computer chip factories. The log is on “clean room paper” which is low particulate paper used in the factories to reduce the chance of a small particle landing on a chip and ruining it.
Among the initial contents of the cache are a couple of pieces of agate, which is brightly colored silica. I mostly put it there because it’s pretty and maybe somebody would like a bit. But, in keeping with the informative tone of this cache description, I should also point out that silica is primarily composed of silicon dioxide, and is the source of glass (used in the making of reticles (essentially a photo-negative of the chip), and in the making of the lenses used to project the reticles onto a new chip). And it is also the source of the silicon used to make the silicon wafers, which are the raw building blocks for the chips in your computer. Maybe more information than anyone cares for. Enjoy the cache.
