Geocache Description:

A preform tube on the Dutchess County Rail Trail

Rails can be what trains run on, what walking trails are made from, or rails can refer to a family of birds. Rails are slender, somewhat chicken-shaped marsh birds, with short rounded wings, short tail, large feet, and long toes. Rails' bodies are laterally compressed - hence the description "thin as a rail" - which allows them to escape into dense grass or reeds. I think you'll have more luck finding the cache than a real Virginia Rail.
