The Old Factory Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

de ja vu: Since placing The Old Factory cache in May 2011, the derelict building has surprisingly been renovated. At the time of archiving the cache, the building is not complete, but the cache is in full view of the revamped building. It is still worth a look to see the changes, and also quite amazing that the owners were able to restore such an old and historic building. We will continue to visit and take some photos of progress, but for now, we have decided to respect the new owners and archive this cache.

Geocache Description:

We found this interesting derelict Butter Factory on our travels near Darnum. The road close to GZ has double lines so if travelling down the hill, we suggest you travel past GZ and find a safe spot to turn around and park immediately past the bridge on the West side to the road. There are other safe spots to park further along also. Keep the kids close by as the road seems reasonably busy.

The cache is not located on the Butter Factory grounds and we do not recommend that you enter the building or the grounds, as it is in disrepair and probably not safe. The cache is a small sistema located down a gentle slope to a predictable hiding spot.
