Three-Mile Creek Trail
Construction of the Three-Mile Creek Trail project began on August 5, 2008. The bid for construction was awarded to Mega Industries and was partially funded through the Kansas Department of Transportation.
The trail begins at the southern end of Leavenworth Landing Park on the Missouri River and creates a walking/biking trail along Three-Mile Creek, continuing westward to 7th Street. It is designed for bike access and does not cross vehicular traffic until it rises back to street level at 7th Street, where it connects with Haymarket Square at the Trail Head. The trail also provides a unique natural environment for recreation and relaxation as well as increased flood control. The length is approximately sixth tenths of a mile.
