Lem, (ca. 1325 Lææm, oprindelig Læhem, af *læ 'gravhøj' og hem 'by',, by i Vestjylland 11 km SØ for Ringkøbing; 1440 indbyggere (2010). Lem, der er station på Ringkøbing-Varde-banen (1875), ligger neden for Skovbjerg Bakkeø og er centrum for maskin- og metalindustri med lige så mange arbejdspladser som antallet af indbyggere. Industrikvarteret i denne "Smedenes by" ligger mod SV; den største virksomhed er en vindmøllefabrik, hvis møller står i Velling Mærsk Vindmøllepark i engene vest for byen. De nyeste parcelhuskvarterer breder sig op ad bakkeøen mod nord. Smedenes Hus midt i byen er aktivitetscenter og museum over den teknologiske udvikling i smedehåndværket og industrien i Lem. Den tidligere maskinfabrikant Chr. Øllgaard Jensens (1909-91) jernskulpturer står flere steder i byen.

Lem, (ca. 1325 Lææm originally Læhem, by * læ 'barrow' and hem 'city', city in western Jutland 11 km SE of Ringkøbing; 1440 inhabitants (2010). Lem who is station in Ringkøbing-Varde Circuit (1875), situated downstream of Skovbjerg Bakkeø is a hub for engineering and metallurgy, with just as many jobs as the number of inhabitants. Industrial District in the "Forging of kings" are to the SV, the biggest company is a windmill plant whose turbines are in Velling Maersk Wind in the meadows west of town. The newest single-family neighborhoods is spreading up the hill islands to the north. Blacksmiths'house in the middle of town activity center and museum of the technological developments in the forging craft and industry in Lem. The former machine manufacturer Chr Øllgaard Jensen (1909 -91) iron sculptures are several places in town.
