of 79.904.
Things you might not know about
Bromine:
- Mountain Dew (and other citrus-flavored soft
drinks) contain brominated vegetable oils.
- It is the only nonmetallic element that is a
liquid at room temperature, and one of only two elements on the
periodic table that are liquids at room temperature.
- Brominated flame retardants represent a
commodity of growing importance, and represent the largest use of
bromine.
- Bromine, like chlorine, is used in
maintenance of swimming pools, especially spas (hot tubs), where it
is generated in situ from a bromide plus hydrogen peroxide.
