Geocache Description:

Number 1 of a set of 3 caches in the lanes of Grouville.

We started Geocaching at the start of 2011 and by the May half-term holiday we decided that we were ready to create our own caches. Maybe it was because we had just passed the 50 cache milestone...

We looked at the existing caches in Jersey and found a bit of a gap in the otherwise fairly densely populated map. This was in an area where we have always enjoyed strolling through the lanes, so we thought we would fill in the gaps and give people an excuse to see another pleasant part of Jersey.

You can treat the three caches as separate entities or you can make it a circular walk. On the day we planned them we had a nine year old and an eight year old who happily walked all the way and a three year old who did some walking and some riding in a buggy.

We started by parking our car at the car park at the foot of Queen’s Valley Reservoir (N 49° 11.567' W002° 02.947').

We did them in the order we have listed them, but that’s entirely up to you.

Cache 1 “Ants’ nest”
Our son found this spot while on a school walk. We went back together and agreed with him that it would be a great place to hide a cache. It got its name because an army of ants poured out when we were prodding around.

Please bring your own pencil or pen.
There is room for some small swaps.
We’ve left a Jersey Lottery scratch card for FTF.
