Geocache Description:

The Periodic Table of Elements - 67 - Holmium

Holmium is a chemical element with the symbol Ho and it has an atomic number of 67.  The atomic weight is 164.93032. 

Things you might not know about Holmium:

  1. Holmium has the highest magnetic strength of any element, and therefore is used to create the strongest artificially generated magnetic fields.
  2. Holmium is one of the colorants used for cubic zirconia and glass, providing yellow or red coloring.
  3. Holmium is relatively inexpensive for a rare-earth metal with the price about US$ 1000 per kg.
