Geocache Description:

PLEASE NOTE: SITE AND CACHE WILL BE CLOSED FROM FIRST SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL UNTIL APRIL 1ST.

Boger Bog is not truly a bog but a graminoid fen - MCCD has used
this property as an opportunity to educate us about the difference.
The site has numerous natural communities including silt-loam
prairie, calcareous seep and spring, an oak woodland and a sedge
meadow. A half-mile looped nature trail provides the visitor with many interesting sites and beautiful views.

*watch for muggles, the site seems to be a popular rest stop and hide is visible from the parking lot.

This geocache is on McHenry County Conservation District land with permission. Do not place the following items in the cache: food, inappropriate, offensive or hazardous materials. Absolutely no cutting of brush or other vegetation is allowed. Visitors must remain on designated trails. It is the visitor’s responsibility to orient themselves with the rules of the District site. Sites are open sunrise to sunset, however some gates may not be open until 8am. At certain times of the year sites will close for a variety of reasons.
