Geocache Description:

In my wanderings I came across a bit of Hawaiian history that I felt was in need of sharing. What better way than with a cache. This cache has it all, murder, assault, kidnapping, a car chase, good cops going bad and corrupt politicians. So, I offer this to you in hopes that I will not offended your sensitivities.

The coordinates will take you to the resting place of an individual that had a great impact on what Hawaii is today. You will know you have found the right site when you see “Hoomanao” low and set in stone. Translated to English it is “Remember”. As an additional confirmation, make note that this person would have celebrated his birthday on Christmas and how he came to be here. Shocking is it not? I don't think that notation can be found anywhere else in this place.

All of us should know who this young man was. I did not know his name until I started this project, shame on me. Other than for an Alii, never have so many people attended the services of one person in the history of Hawaii. Schools were closed and students were encouraged to attend. History was being made.

Once you have found him, it is on to the cache. So that you do not need to disturb anything here, I will give you as much help as I can. As you face the gray stone you will see a neighbor to your right. This would be the “statute breaker” Duarte. If you convert his date of birth to ab/cd/efgh and his departure to ij/kl/mnop you will find the cache at North GE MH.FNH WEST A(O+J)(F-G) ( O+C)K.DJH.

The cache is covered with just one layer, so take care not to be noticed.

When you have time, you might wish to research this person, I think you will find it interesting. Once you have found the cache, if you like, I will send you a copy of the confession of the man that put him here.

I have found street parking close by and there is a shopping center within walking distance. I have been told that I have an obsession with places like this and maybe I do. Here you can touch history and it touches you back.

You will not be the first to find this cache as it has been out there for about a year, while I worked out the details.
