The Scout Master: I went by today to investigate a note that the cache was once again not working. Thinking it only needed new batteries, I switched them out, but discovered the cache would not work unless it was only 1 foot from the first stage, if then. Since this would be at odds with the way the cache is supposed to work, I decided to archive it. Thanks to all who visited over the past 2 years (and the 24 who gave it a Favorite point).

Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates, however, it is very close by and easy to locate.
When you arrive, drive down past the station to the left and park in the lower lot.
PLEASE STAY ON FIRE DEPARTMENT PROPERTY!

NOTE: IF TRAVELING I-85, Take EXIT 58 (Brockman-McClimon Rd).
This exit can be confusing, so please note:
If traveling Northbound the exit will take you OVER the interstate, then take the FIRST LEFT At the sign saying BMW Training and Development Center" .
If going Southbound, after taking the exit you will take the same turn.
BOTH will take you BACK OVER I-85 to the cache.
TO GET BACK, recross I-85 and go Right at the stop sign.
You can also access this cache from Highway 14.

This is a very short, two-stage multi-cache.
When you get to the coordinates and find the first stage,
it will be obvious what needs to be done to find the final.
DO NOT REMOVE ANY PART OF THE FIRST STAGE!

Permission for this cache is given by Captain Scott Harris and Chief Jolley
of the Pelham Batesville Fire Department.
They ask that you park in the lower area, which is where you need to be anyway.
Most of the firefighters should know about the cache, but many rotate through here on training exercises, so some may not be aware of it.
NOTE: STAY ON THE FIRE STATION SIDE OF THE FENCE.

(I placed a note on the 1st stage with the final coords in case the first stage is not successfully utilized.)
