This cache is placed in Memory of our parents, "Älan and Alice Strode". who the towns people thought it suitable to have a park named after them for all the contribution and work that they had done for the town. Also for the work they had both done for the Aboriginal communities in Central Australia. Taking expedition/ working groups out to construct bakeries, craft rooom, general storeroom, making bridges and clock towers and many more other constructions too many to list them all. They had both spent many years in the Scouting Movement (50Yrs each) working with the cubs and scouts starting up many new groups along the tablelands and the south coast. They had attended many Jamborees (Dad was often called upon to help with the organising of such events ,particularly for those held in NSW) They were fortunate to have been able to attend the World Jamboree in England in 1957 Dad was involved with the Moss Vale Rotary Club some 47yrs, doing many improvements to the town. (Leighton Gardens, White creek area.) Mum was involved with the Quota club for some 35yrs, also assiting in activities for the town. They were both involved with a Business Company that had the forsight to plan and build the Caravan Park (Near by) in 1972 which is a great asset to the town. Other groups they belonged to : Setting up the beginning of the Senoir Citizens club to which Dad was the Patron for many years untill his death. Dad was a Returned Soldier from the Second World War; having served in New Guinea on the Kokoda Track and area. The cache is a micro and you will nead to bring your own pen.
