Geocache Description:

This Cache is on the " Half Collared Kingfisher" trail which to me is a great trail to do in the natural forests of the area.

As this is run by SANPARKS, a entrance fee is payable.
( R37 for SA citizens last time i visited , No charge if your already in possession of a WILDCARD - thanks Monterey21 for the info)

About 100m from the start of the trail, you will get the "Bosduif loop" on your left hand side. To get this cache you will need to take this loop.
The cache is about 1km from the start of the trail. It is however a steep climb and you are guaranteed to break a sweat and breathe heavily before you get to the cache, but the view will make it well worth the effort.

A person of average fitness should be able to do the hike and get the cache in less than a hour, (if you do the whole trail it will take longer though) however any able bodied person should be able to do the walk, so even if your seriously unfit, just take longer to do it. (on the day I placed the cache I was accompanied by a person suffering from asthma and it was really no problem)
There are 3 resting benches on the loop. 1st one is about halfway up, second is almost at the top and the third is at the view.

The cache is placed near the bench at the view.
From here you have a great panorama view of the river and cave, as well the sea and the Serpentine river further away.

PLEASE BEWARE

THE CACHE IS NOT NEAR THE CLIFF SO THERE IS NO REASON TO SEARCH THERE
(when the ground is wet, it can be quite slippery near the cliff and a fall will seriously injure or even kill you)

After retrieving the cache you can continue on the bosduif loop that eventually ties up again with the main trail.

As mentioned, the cache is about 1km from the start of the trail but the complete hiking trail is about 4km in length (8km return) with a beautiful waterfall at the end.

Look out for the "Knysna Loeries" they are almost always present here.

Please bring your own pen,(seems the one I put in the cache disappeared, I will try to get one back there)
