Geocache Description:

Our 1st Hide. It is a Micro sized container. Route to geocache is wheelchair freindly but to reach the cache itself might be difficult from a chair.

This could be a cache and dash, but the road is a single track. Why not park up somewhere in the village and stretch your legs. You will require a pen or pencil. Container contains a log only. The village of Dalrymple has grown a lot from the original 2 streets, but even with the recent addition of some new housing, it still retains the freindliness of a small village, so be sure to say hello to people you pass, (it might be me). There are 2 pubs; one of which is The Kirkton Inn which has been in business since the 1800's, it has been bought recently and the restaurant is due to open soon. There is also a Spar and a bakers, ideal for some picnic supplies. The Church of Scotland church you pass has records dating back to 1700's and like many churchs had a school ran by the minister, Robert Burns attended this school for a time. There was also a Free Church within the village set up in 1843, the met in the open air and even sometimes in the Kirkton Inn, until in 1846 they built a wooden building situated behind where the row of cottages are on Garden St. Watch out for "Mugs and their Dugs" as it is a popular place to stretch both 2 and 4 legs. Please note there is no need to enter the water works or cross any fences.
