Dartmoor Dave: I couldn't make up my mind what to do about this cache. It is best approached from the north but getting here and back adds a whole kilometre to a walk which is already very long. I therefore decided it was time to go. Many thanks to all who have visited and to ELDitton for placing originally. I have removed the cache.

Geocache Description:


The Philpott Peat passes were cut to assist hunters on the North Moor. They can greatly assist walkers also.
If you are heading for Cranmere Pool from Fur Tor or out of the Tavy Cleave, finding this end of the longest Peat Pass on the Moor will aid you on your journey.

IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to complete this cache you will need to enter the Okehampton Military Range where live firing occurs. You may also traverse the Willsworthy Range area on the way in. You must check out the Firing Notices before entering the range. DO NOT ENTER THE RANGE WHEN THE RED FLAGS ARE FLYING. Never pick up any objects, they may be unexploded devices. Please Note: This is a Military Training Area on which live firing and other pyrotechnics may be used. The area is generally open public access. One of the safety rules for public access is:- Do not, (and ensure that children do not) approach, touch or pick up any metal objects lying on the ground. Please obey all byelaws and locally posted information concerning times when the area may be closed. These may be physical barriers, flags or lights.
