Porcupine Alley #1 Traditional Cache
woodlandjt: I no longer have the time to maintain these caches, so I am archiving them so someone else can feel free to put a cache here if they liked the area. Thanks to everyone who enjoyed the cache, I enjoyed bringing you to one of my favorite childhood spots.

This is the first in the series of 2 caches I dropped as my first caches!
If you are coming from State College (West) grab this one first. You then have to go down the mountain and turn around at the Milroy exit to arrive in the parking spot for Porcupine Alley #2.
If you are coming from Lewistown (East) grab Porcupine Alley #1 first, then go up the mountain to turn around and hit this one.
I call this area Porcupine Alley because in the past I have seen quite a few porcupines out and about.
I have realized there is a little confusion about porcupines, so allow me to learn you something today: porcupines, contrary to popular belief, CANNOT shoot their quills when they are scared. The quills have little barbs on the end like a fishing hook, so if they stick you, they stay stuck and pull out of the animal. There is no more danger in approaching a porcupine than any other wild animal, it will not go on the offense and attack you, but you need to be aware if you have a dog with you as dogs have a tendency to get a nose-full of quills.
Once you park, if you head down the old section of road a bit, you will find a path leading down the hill, but it is steep and slick. You can also bushwhack through the woods a bit. Near the bottom you will likely run into a fairly well distinguishable trail, but it peters out about 500 feet from GZ. There are several ways to get there, but they are hardly a collection of criss-crossing game trails. Also you will be going though a boggy stream area, so be prepared to get a wet/muddy foot if you step in the wrong spot.
Congrats to redtailforester for the FTF!
Also, congrats r.e.s.t.seekers on FTF a porcupine, I was beginning to worry that everyone would think I was crazy for naming it that if they never see any! And thanks for reaffirming my decision to name the caches as I did!
