Langley Days 3 Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Doctor Pat: Am archiving this one, as I no longer live nearby and am not sure if/when I can do the necessary maintenance checks. This cache has been here for a long time so many thanks to all who have visited and logged this cache over the years. I hope others can now place new caches in this area…

Geocache Description:

This series of three caches follows Days Lane from one end (near the M4/A350 junction) into the village of Kington Langley.

Why not combine these three caches with "The Commons" series around the village? Parking is not obvious for this cache and Days Lane itself is narrow, but there are places to loiter while retrieving all three of these.

The village of Kington Langley is about 1.5 miles long from one end to the other and stands on a small hill near Chippenham. It has three Commons: Upper, Middle and Lower Common.

One famous local resident was Norris Dewar McWhirter who, with his identical twin brother Ross, was editor of the Guinness Book of Records and appeared on the BBC children’s television show “Record Breakers” from the 1970s to early 1990s. Norris died in April 2004 aged 78, following a tennis match at his home in Kington Langley.

The village boasts a pub, conveniently placed in the heart of the village (for those needing refreshment) which can claim David Cameron as a client (before he became Prime Minister).
