Geocache Description:

I call this the Cedar Chest because when I was looking for a geobeacon I found this cluster of Red Cedar trees which are used to make cedar chests. Along the Cedar River Greenbelt Trail

This 4.0 mile trail parallels the Cedar River from one mile west of Osage,Iowa to the town of Mitchell, Iowa. It is open to biking, hiking and horseback riders. It includes wooded hills, limestone cliffs, and riverside solitude for nature lovers of all sorts. Stop for a picnic along the way at the small shelter house halfway between the trail or throw in a fishing line and try your luck at landing a big one. There are four access locations available. No motorized vehicles allowed
