Geocache Description:

Congrats to lojowo for FTF. Easy to find and good for kids and families. Meant to serve as a trade site for travel bugs and other trackables. Please . . . only take a trackable if you trade one in return. DO NOT cross the fence line.

About This Series of Caches

My daughter and I placed the first geocache in this series shortly after my dad died in February of 2011. Each cache in the series will represent a specific memory I have of my father, one shared with me by people who knew him, or a location which played an important role in his life. My dad was known to most of his friends as Comanche, a handle he used on his CB radio in his younger days. Each of these caches will carry his name.

Welcome to the Farm

This cache markes the entry to a farm my dad once worked with his own hands. His life never consisted of a 40-hour, 5 day a week, 8 hour a day work schedule. Even when he came home from work his mind never stopped thinking about how to do things better. He set an example that set a bar higher than I could ever reach. This farm was part of that story.

Dad had many jobs on top of the work he did at his shop. When I was young, I remember him coming home from work in the spring and summer and often going up to the farm to till the ground, irrigate the field, or cut and bail the hay. Before houses were built in the area, dad had planted grass along the banks of the ditch to the east to create a little area for us to do some phesant hunting.

Love you and miss you dad.
