Geocache Description:

This is the third of a many colored cache series. Please keep up with the color theme (otherwise the name doesn't fit).

I think that its better to use you "geo-sense" for this one. Previous logs have said 60 - 80 feet from the cords. listsed

After we placed this cache we saw something very odd - railroad cars with minds of their own! One by one they appeared from behind what looked like an airport traffic tower. The first one would head down a track close to the road. The next would head down a different track. So we came home and did a little research. After you find the cache watch to the west, right across the road.

Hump Yards are the largest and most effective classification yards with the largest shunting capacity and often several thousand cars a day. A classification yard is a railroad yard found at some freight train stations, used to separate railroad cars onto one of several tracks. First the cars are taken to a track, called a lead. From there the cars are sent through a series of switches called a ladder that sends the cars through the correct series of classification tracks. Larger yards tend to put the lead on a man made hill called a hump which uses the force of gravity to propel the cars further down the final track.
