Geocache Description:

This geocache is intended to be a family oriented cache for those who like to get “outdoors”. The hike is approximately 1.5 miles roundtrip, all on developed state parks trails. There are lots of different trails in Stub Stewart State Park – hiking trails, disc golf course trails/fairways, horse trails, and service roads. Please stay to established trails; do not bushwhack, and do not use the disc golf trails/fairways (unless you are playing disc golf).

Located in Stub Stewart State Park, this geocache is placed as part of a Girl Scout Gold Project. The specific project helped the park in the construction of three fairways on the new disc golf course. This purpose of this geocache is to add to the geocaching fun currently located in the park, to expose geocachers to another fun recreation/sport – disc golf, and to show geocaching girl scouts a Gold Project.
Stop at the Welcome Center and pick up a trail map to aid in knowing the trail network. You will also need a State Park pass; you can purchase a day pass for $5.00 at the day use parking area (Parking Waypoint). Park at the Parking Waypoint; do not park along the side of the road or other inappropriate areas.
There are two trail accesses to this cache. Trail 10 can be accessed just to the south of the day use parking lot. The second access is a short walk along the paved road north of the day use parking lot and across from the entrance into the Mountain Dale Cabin Village.
Use the additional waypoints to help guide you along the trail system to the cache. Waypoints for parking, #1 & #2 should all have good signals; The signal for the actual cache site can vary due to tree canopy. The cache location is within 30’ of the edge of the gravel service road, and within 75 feet of waypoint #2. If you are bushwhacking about in the brush further than these distances you are off course.
The cover of the cache is an unnatural short piece of 2x6 lumber; but the cache should be neatly hidden such that the seeker will only see the 2x6 from the right viewpoint just as you “make the find”.
Original contents: Starbucks gift card, 2 mini flashlights, 2 carabineers, 1 mini tape measure, 1 hot wheels car, 1 superball, 1 glowstick, 4 ninja silly bracelets.
