The Race Street Pier is the former 540 foot long Municipal Pier 11. This $6.5 million, 13-acre park below the Benjamin Franklin Bridge is located at the foot of Race Street and opened May 2011. The park is a blend of deck and green space, but very much an urban environment. While here I watched a Duck boat splash into the Delaware River on their nearby ramp. I saw a tall masted ship pass by along with many motor boats and then a huge barge. Families were enjoying the park along side the fishermen. During the summer months, there will be Saturday and Sunday performances by bands, jugglers, DJs, and magicians. All provided by the Delaware River Waterfront Corp. and Penns Landing. Summer hours: 7am - 11pm Park rules are posted at the entrance. Please take a moment and read them. There is a Penns Landing Security Guard on duty to answer your questions.
