Geocache Description:


The official memorial to Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, the Center has a breathtaking panorama of the city of Tel Aviv where Yitzhak Rabin grew up, lived and was assassinated.

The Yitzhak Rabin Center was created to preserve the legacy of Yitzhak Rabin. Through educational programming, the Center reinforces democratic values, builds bridges between communities, equalizes educational opportunity and creates a cadre of young leaders equipped to confront the unique challenges that Israel faces.

Designed by the internationally acclaimed architect Moshe Safdie, the Yitzhak Rabin Center is based on the model of the American Presidential Library, and includes a museum, archives and library, educational wing and public spaces. Construction of the foundation began on November 15, 2000, and the dedication of the Center occurred on the 10th commemoration of the assassination of Prime Minister Rabin in November 2005. The final piece of the Center, the Israeli Museum, was recently opened to the public in January 2010.
