Geocaching HQ Admin: Because logging benchmarks on Geocaching.com is no longer possible, Geocaching HQ is archiving challenge caches which require finding and logging benchmarks. See this release notes thread for more information.

Geocache Description:

AT THE POSTED COORDINATES

The goal of this challenge is simple: Find and log a benchmark listed on geocaching.com with a designation that consists only of numbers. Previous finds don't count.

So, KB has this challenge out there that hasn't been found yet (as of June 6, 2011). I'm thinking the problem is that he requires people to find 33 benchmarks with a "numeric-only" designation. In over four years of geocaching, I finally found my first "numeric-only" benchmark today. Here's what it looked like:

Not much to look at. My sense is that they don't really designate benchmarks with only numbers anymore. So I'm thinking a challenge like this can help people working on that challenge, if people start logging numeric benchmarks and letting other cachers know which ones are active and accessible and which aren't.

The Rules

  • Please reference the PID and designation of the benchmark you're using in your log.
  • The benchmark must be listed on geocaching.com and its designation must consist of only numerals.
  • Previous finds don't count.
  • If there is a space in the name of the benchmark (e.g., "94 3"), that is a valid benchmark for purposes of this challenge (as long as there are no letters in the name).
  • Please take a picture of your GPS with the benchmark that you log, and post it to the benchmark log as well as to this log.
  • I reserve the right to amend the rules of this challenge to address unexpected issues, and to delete logs where the person has not complied with the requirements.
  • Bonus points if you find a benchmark that nobody has previously logged.
