Geocache Description:

One of a series of caches along the Peak Forest Canal between Romiley & Haughton Green.

The Peak Forest Canal runs for 15 miles between Ashton under Lyne, east of Manchester, and Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire, UK. It links the Ashton Canal with the tramways that brought limestone from the Peak District

We decided to place our first series of caches to fill one of the many cacheless gaps along the canal. This section of the canal between Romiley & Haughton Green was much frequented in my youth and so seemed appropriate for our first caches.

The cache is a small tupperware box containing log book, pencil and small swaps.
