A small container in a unique area of BLM.
Takes about 35 mins to hike to at a fast pace from the parking area.
The rating is a bit higher as access to this is fairly "out there".
While on a little stroll on the BLM land. In the distance I saw two shiny poles sticking straight up, out of the ground. I walked closer and realized it was an old foundation (2-3 of them). I went home and told The-Fuzzz about the house and he was very excited about going to see the house. (He loves old stuff). We walked out again and decided to bring a Geo-Cache with us to hide somewhere in or around the house. After arriving and taking several photos we found a hiding spot and hid the cache. Then picked up some strange items around the foundation (Old door knob, door hinge, and a center cap for an old Ford van (There are several tires out there).
Looking at the house and wondering what it was for, we noticed:
The two big poles (again)
Two ground poles for electricity
A HUGE metal box
Wood insulating the walls
Carpet on the walls
and many beer bottles.
We put out heads together (The-Fuzzz, Trackz-man, and all the Hooters) and discovered that this house must have been a POT-HOUSE!!
A generator would have been mounted between the posts since it is to far out for electricity, the grounds would help use the electricity. The big metal box would quiet the generator so no-one could tell they were out there growing pot. The walls coated with wood would keep the humidity inside the "pot-house" to keep it nice a tropical for all the pot to grow nice and tall. And of course the foundation was made from custom cement, so that means the government could have no suspicion of what they were building! And it required no permits!
And as always the government finds the pot-growers and arrests them, and since the house-market was caving in Central Oregon the government had no reason to keep the house. (Plus there is rat crap everywere! I guess they like pot)
Good luck finding the cache!
