WELCOME TO CINEMA VALLEY! Being a long time resident of Simi Valley and Movie Fan, and after seeing the small signs with cryptic names and arrows all over the place. I decided it was time to start a series of caches dedicated to the many movies and television shows that have been filmed in Simi Valley Located so near to Hollywood (Well within the T.M.Z.), Simi Valley has long been a convenient location for the film industry dating back to the 1930's. It has become so popular with Hollywood it has earned the nickname "Cinema Valley". Simi Valley and the surrounding hills have been the site of many television series, including the long running television series Gunsmoke, Little House on the Praire and M*A*S*H. Simi Valley has also been the location of some of the biggest film like Poltergeist, Men in Black, Creature from the black Lagoon, Jurasic Park, Thor and The Big Lebowski. FUN FACT: For those of you who don't know it TMZ isn't just a TV show and website. It means Thirty Mile Zone. Which is a long standing industy term for the spheare of influance of Hollywood. Where the Economy, Culture and daily life is effected by the Film Industry. BIGGEST ENTOURAGE This is located near the gate of the Hummingbird Nest Ranch.
