Garrison Elbow Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

GotBoots?wv: This cache went missing and I plan to replace it with another new cache nearby along the trail and not renew this one. It wasn't in the best location anyway. ~Boots~

Geocache Description:

Thanks to some volunteers that have put a lot of hard work into clearing paths through the woods in CATO Park to make The Garrison Hiking Trail. Some say it’s a hidden beauty. CATO Park is located on Charleston’s west side hill, up Edgewood Drive.

CATO’s 9-hole golf course and CATO Park used to be the 18-hole Edgewood Golf Course, with the Edgewood Country Club overlooking it from the top of the hill. Edgewood’s upper 9 holes were located where CATO Park is now.

The trailhead, see picture of sign, is at coordinates (N 38° 22.438, W 081° 38.100), across from a playground. Parking is nearby. The trail length is 0.6 miles long and ends up back near the trailhead. There are some exercise stations and some trees labelled along the way. Hope you enjoy the trail.

You are looking for a sandwich container covered with camouflage tape. There's no need to go down the hillside.

The initial contents are: a Flying WV golf ball, miscellaneous swag, and, of course, a logbook and pencil.

FTF prize is a free 6" sub at Subway. Congrats to wvmeadows for the FTF. Glad you enjoyed your free sub.
