Geocache Description:

Kurmburr is the Wemba Wemba word for Kangaroo Lake.

Several large lakes, including Kangaroo Lake and Lake Charm, are popular with visitors for watersports, boating and fishing.

The small community of Kangaroo Lake is located around the lake of the same name, mid-way between the Murray River towns of Swan Hill and Kerang.

Kangaroo Lake is part of the Kerang Wetlands, which cover a series of lakes and wetlands stretching between Lake Boga and Kerang. These wetlands are home to thousands of colourful and graceful water birds, as well as providing facilities for watersports, boating and fishing.

Gorton Drive, named after the Australia Prime Minister who grew up in the area, runs along the western shore of Kangaroo Lake and is lined with jacaranda trees and citrus orchards. Vineyards next to Kangaroo Lake produce a number of exotic wines from their warm climate grape plantings.
