While out kayaking with the Geo-kids the other day we named this stretch of PRIVATE land Turtle Beach for all the turtles we saw lounging in the sun. When we found this amazing tree seemingly rising from the water we knew we needed to bring a cache back. All the land along this part of the lake is private. I placed the cache by kayak, but any small boat or water craft could access it, and you can also walk in the shallow water. Terrain is rated a 3 because of the required water navigation. Watch for turtles in the Turtle Hide... we saw many lounging on the twisty branches poking out of the water.
I have posted a parking waypoint for Selma Hughes park which is the closest parking. You can launch a small kayak from there, but there is no boat ramp.
