Over the past several years the Straits Area Geocachers (SAG)
has had the pleasure to host many fun and exciting events in
Northern Michigan. The Fall Fest remains our premier event and we
look forward to it each and every year. The event is designed to be
a fun, relaxed, family friendly atmosphere. There are always plenty
of prizes, giveaways, and drawings. In addition, there will be a
geocaching 101 class for those new to the sport or maybe have never
geocached before but would like to learn more. Of course there will
be an abundance of new caches placed in the local area in honor of
this event. Other activities include travel bug/geocoin swaps, tag
trading and several games. New this year - two Power Trails were
recently placed close to Camp Petosega allowing Geocachers a chance
to pick up over three hundred caches between the two trails. Power
Trails aren't your thing? No problem. There are a vast multitude of
cache types, difficulty and terrain levels in the area. However, we
would be remiss not to warn attendees; while geocaching around
here, you will be subjected to picturesque scenery and wonderful
wildlife that only northern Michigan can offer. The best part of
all… IT’S FREE!
