Geocache Description:

This area is under construction - you do not need to go down a bank - or under the building. Just a cool piece of history.

Yes, this is the Fire Hose House - being refurbished - as it originally was. It was commissioned to be built in 1897 for $89.00, which did not include the bell, but did include benches for the jail. The bell was purchased in 1898 - and the story goes - that the first time it was rung, it broke.

The Fire Hose House was moved to it's present location in 1901.

Inside is a fire hose cart, (which was pulled by relay teams), among other items. When this is completed - it will be a thing to behold. PS - I had the privilege of hearing the fire bell being rung. Way Cool!!! More info to come!
