Geocache Description:


Salamander valley

This place is called "Sansyouuo dani" which means "Salamander valley" in Japanese. You have gone up about 70 percent of the trail to Mt. Kaba from the Makabe-haiden.

Salamander is a kind of amphibians. They need moisture because their respiration relys on the cutaneous one approximately. They seem to live under follen leaves in a forest, in a hole digged by a mole and a mouse, under a riverside stone, and so on. They are quite gentle and nocturnal in habit.

It is suitable for rest because there is a clear stream. I placed a small size cache near here. As for me, I have never seen salamanders here... How about you ?

Note: The accuracy of coordinates was 7 m when I took the coordinates.

山椒魚谷

この場所は山椒魚谷と呼ばれています。真壁拝殿から加波山への登山道の七合目にあたります。

山椒魚は両生類の一種です。呼吸の大半を皮膚呼吸に頼っているので皮膚が湿っていないと生存できません。森林の落ち葉の下、モグラやネズミが掘った穴の中、川近くの石の下などに生息しているそうです。性質はきわめておとなしく夜行性のようです｡

ここは清流が流れておりますので一休みするにはよい場所かと思います。スモールサイズのキャッシュを置きました。ちなみに私は山椒魚をここで見たことはありませんが、皆様はどうでしょうか・・・。

注意:座標を測定したときのGPSの信号の精度は7mでした。
