Geocache Description:

This cache is situated on the South West coast path overlooking Gunwalloe Cove with great views out into Mounts Bay and along the coast to Porthleven and beyond. It is accessible from the car park at Gunwalloe fishing cove and is a fairly easy walk. Ideal for those less nimble or those with children. The terrain is slightly uneven in places, very narrow and has stiles so is unsuitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs unfortunately.

Gunwalloe is said to be the first entry in the Domesday Book as the Kings Manor of Winnianton. At the time of Domesday it was of great importance and the head manor in the hundred of Kerrier.

Our cache is a small plastic lunchbox, with lots of swaps, 2 geocoins and a log book and pen. It can be found a short walk from the car park at Gunwalloe fishing cove, or from the nearby pub. To fully appreciate the stunning scenery in this area however, you may like to incorporate this cache as part of a much longer walk. The views from the cache site are stunning so take time to enjoy the scenery. Please ensure that small children are supervised well, as although we deem this site to be suitable for our own children, paths by the sea carry obvious risks and the path to this cache does pass close to the cliff edge in one place.. The cache is hidden well but not far from the path so please keep well away from the cliff edge!
Many thanks to the National Trust for kindly allowing placement of this cache :-)
