Eshima Traditional Cache

Inner halls of a palace maid's Eshima was thrown into here Takato in 1774 at the beginning of Edo period by Eshima-Ikushima affair that happened in the inner halls of a palace.
The imprisoned residence has been restored for 28 years to the death of Eshima at the age of 61 in 1741.
This "Kakomi Yashiki(Enclosed Residence)" was restored to almost the same position in 1967 by the remaining master drawing.
Cache is in the vicinity of the entrance of "Takato History Museum" with this residence.
It is possible to walk in from here to the Takato castle site (showplace of cherry blossoms).
In seeing the Eshima enclose residence, it is necessary to enter the museum.

江戸時代初期に、大奥で起こった絵島生島事件により、大奥女中の絵島は1774年に、ここ高遠に流されました。
絵島が1741年に 61歳で没するまでの28年間、幽閉された屋敷が復元されています。
この「絵島囲み屋敷」は残存した原図により、ほぼ同じ位置に1967年に復元されました。
キャッシュは、この屋敷がある「高遠町歴史博物館」の入り口付近にあります。
ここから、桜の名所の高遠城址も歩いていけます。
絵島囲み屋敷を見るには、博物館に入る必要があります。
