Please read this histortic marker. It marks the place the Moose Mountian to Fort Ellice Trail crosses highway # 9. The trail was used by fur traders in the early 1880's in search of buffalo on the southern plains. After 1873, the North West Mounted Police used it for patrols and in the 1880's surveyors were sent this way to stake out the land for settlement.
