A micro hidden in a busy urban location
This series of caches is placed for all of those geocachers who are spending time at one of Edmonton's hospitals visiting with and looking after friends and relatives who are ill. It can be depressing hanging out in the hospital all day long waiting around for tests and stuff, so we thought we should place this series of caches to give you an excuse to get out for a little break!
This cache is placed in honour of the Stollery Children's Hospital and the medical school of the University of Alberta which is based at the nearby Katz building. Want to know where your doctor trained? It was probably here. This cache is also placed just across the street from the Edmonton Clinic North, a state-of-the-art new hospital facility which is currently under construction. Take a look at the architecture as it goes up and please post a picture with your log to show the progress. Take note of the striking colours too - ROYGBIV!
The cache is a camouflaged pill bottle and is cunningly hidden in an outdoor public location which is often busy. It may be best to seek this one at the weekend or early morning/evening. Reception is sometimes poor between the tall buildings, so we advise scoping out the location using Google Earth and perhaps using the hint too! If you can get more accurate coords, please post in your log!
UPDATE MARCH 2012:
Not sure who removed the original micro and replaced it with a box, but normal service has now been resumed. A new micro is here and ready to be found! Please re-hide carefully and watch for muggles!
