Welcome Cachers to Selby, Ontario
Located at the corners of
Hwy 11 and 41
The
community was first called Gallagher's Corners
after a Mr. Gallagher who operated a local
tavern.
The
village was laid out by John McKim.
The post office opened in 1853,
when early settler Edward Storr gave it the name Selby
after his hometown in Yorkshire, England
