Piper J-3 Cub

The Piper J-3 Cub’s first flight was in 1938. The Piper J-3 Cub is a small, simple, light aircraft with tandem (front and back) seating. A curiosity of the Piper J-3 Cub is that when it is flown solo, the lone pilot normally occupies the rear seat for proper balance. In 1983 a Piper J-3 Cub was landed on a truck top at the Lanseria air show. The Piper J-3 Cub is 6.83 m long and has a wingspan of 10.74 m. It weighs 345 kg (empty) and maximum speed is 140 km/h with a range of 354 km.
